Mason and Wales Architects was established in 1863 by the city’s first mayor, William Mason.
Since 1972 the firm has been recognised by thirty nine NZIA Architectural Awards for Commercial, Institutional and Residential buildings throughout New Zealand.
Francis Whitaker, Director of Mason and Wales is the Master Architect for Pegasus. His work has included the master planning of the Pegasus Town Centre, Lake Shore, and the Golf Course design and layout.
As architect for Pegasus he has also designed the Golf Club House, Proshop, Sprig Bar and Gymnasium.
His design approach has been to create a timeless building that is highly functional, stylish, is appropriate in its setting, and has a strong popular appeal.
